Chipolo is a Bluetooth tracker and, as such, has a maximum range of 120 m (400 ft) where it can stay connected.
We would recommend using it to find and track in-house pets like house-trained cats and smaller dogs, but would not recommend its use on larger dog breeds and outdoor cats.
To track outdoor pets that stay outside a lot, we would suggest using a GPS tracker that allows real-time tracking at any distance.
The Chipolo finder on your pet's collar will allow you to:
- Check if your pet is nearby by opening the Chipolo/Find My/Find Hub app on your phone and checking if the tracker is connected (this means that your pet is close enough for the tracker to connect to your phone).
- See Chipolo's last known location (with a timestamp).
- Ring the tracker attached to your pet's collar to check your pet's location (once you're nearby).
Warning: Some animals might be sensitive to the sudden ringing or the volume of the ringtone, so please exercise caution when using the Ring feature with your pet.
