Please note that this guide is written for Chipolos that work exclusively in the Chipolo app (Chipolo ONE, pre 2025 CARD, and older models). If you have a Chipolo POP, LOOP, or the new Chipolo CARD, you can share the tracker directly from the Find Hub or Find My app.
You can share your Chipolo with your family and friends virtually through the Chipolo app.
When you share your Chipolo, and they accept the share in the Chipolo app on their phone, you will both be able to ring the Chipolo (not at the same time), see its last location on a map, and check out who it was last connected to, to know who used it last.
The person you will be sharing your Chipolo with will need to download the Chipolo app on their phone and create their own Chipolo account.
When their account is set up, open the Chipolo app on your phone and follow the instructions detailed below.
How To Share Your Chipolo - Step-by-step instructions:
1. Open the Chipolo app and in the List view, tap on the Chipolo you want to share.
2. On the next screen, tap on "Share this Chipolo".
3. After that, you can share your Chipolo with family or friends by sharing the code on screen. The code is active for 24 hours and can only be used once.
The other person will be sent a "sharing request", asking them to accept your shared Chipolo. When they accept your share, you will receive a notification in the Chipolo app.
Note: Only one person can be actively connected to a Chipolo at one time (can make it ring), and that is usually the person standing closest to the Chipolo, due to the stronger Bluetooth signal on their phone. The other person sharing a Chipolo can see the last known location and who the Chipolo is connected to (or was last connected to) in the Chipolo app on their phone.
