You do not need to have an internet connection to find a nearby Chipolo, as it uses Bluetooth to connect.
The Chipolo app will also remember the last known location when your Chipolo was connected to your phone. If your Chipolo was last connected to another mobile device, you will need an internet connection to get the location through the Chipolo system. You also need an internet connection (data or Wi-Fi) to register or sign into the Chipolo app and to initially pair your Chipolos. Once signed in, internet access is not required for connecting to your Chipolo via the app.
