In some rare occurrences it is possible that the “half-sheet” popup for pairing Chipolo POP with your Android phone does not appear. For example, this may happen if you dismiss the popup by tapping somewhere else on the screen.
First, make sure that you have “Bluetooth” and “Location” turned ON. Close the Chipolo app in case you have it opened.
Bluetooth and Location allow the Fast Pair feature on your phone to automatically detect nearby devices.
What you should try first:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Bluetooth to open the “Connected devices” screen.
- You should see the Chipolo POP listed in the upper part of the screen, just below the title.
- Tap on the Chipolo POP to start the pairing process.
If the above doesn't work:
- Open the “Settings” app.
- Tap on your Google account name (Google services and preferences)
- Go to “All services” -> “Devices”.
- Make sure “Scan for nearby devices” toggle is enabled.
- You will see a list of devices titled “Available devices nearby”.
- Tap on the Chipolo POP on the list.
If none of the above works, you can follow the longer procedure described below:
- Wait for up to 60 second after the last button press for your Chipolo POP to go back to sleep (turn off). You will hear your Chipolo POP beep when this happens.
- Turn off your Android device.
- Turn your Android device back on and wait 2 minutes for the operating system to properly boot up and all the required services start up.
- Place your Chipolo POP next to your Android device and press the Chipolo POP's button again.
- Your Chipolo POP will make a beep when you press the button and the popup should now appear again on your Android device.
- Make sure you tap on the 'Connect' button to start the pairing process.
