A Chipolo POP can be disabled to stop it from sharing its location. It will no longer report to the Apple Find My network or Google's Find My Device network and the owner can no longer get updates on its location.
If you receive a message on your iOS or Android device that a Chipolo POP has been detected near you and you are not familiar with this device, you can make the Chipolo POP ring through the system notification that you have received.
After locating the item, use the steps described below to disable it. The owner will no longer receive updates on the location of this Chipolo POP and it will no longer trigger unknown tracker alerts.
By removing the battery:
- Use your fingernails or insert a smaller tool into the small gap on the side of the Chipolo and carefully remove the lid.
- With your thumbs, push down the battery cover and rotate counterclockwise.
- Remove the battery cover and remove the battery.
- To close, place the battery cover back on, rotate clockwise then cover with the Chipolo lid.
By pressing and holding the button:
- Press Chipolo POP once.
- Press again and hold for 10 seconds.
- Keep holding and release after 10th beep.
- When the Chipolo POP is disabled, you will hear a confirmation sound.
- To re-enable the Chipolo POP, press it again.
