Adding your Chipolo POP involves connecting it to both the Google's Find My Device app and the Chipolo app. You have to separately add your Chipolo POP to the Chipolo app after it is added to the Find My Device app.
Follow these steps in order:

Initiate Fast Pair:
Press your Chipolo POP once; you should hear a beep.

Add to the Find My Device app:
Tap "CONNECT" and follow the instructions in the pop-up notification (half sheet) triggered by the Android operating system.

Add to the Chipolo App:
Open the Chipolo app. The app might automatically detect the Chipolo POP and display a popup inviting you to add it. In this case, follow the on-screen instructions.
If you don't see a popup, tap the "ADD A NEW CHIPOLO" button on the app's home screen and follow the instructions.
It is important to perform the setup in this order, as the Chipolo POP cannot be added to the Chipolo app without first being added to the Find My Device app via the system-initiated pop-up.
Common issues
I cannot setup my Chipolo POP, the Chipolo app keeps searching, but nothing happens!
If you haven't added your Chipolo via the system-initiated pop-up yet and you have your Chipolo app open (maybe even on the adding screen for Chipolo POP), nothing will happen. The system will not trigger the pairing pop-up while the Chipolo app is open.
If this is the case, please:
- Close the Chipolo app.
- Press your Chipolo POP again and wait a few seconds for the pop-up to appear, or follow instructions in the article Popup doesn't appear when pairing Chipolo POP.
- Make sure your Chipolo is visible in the Find My Device app.
- Go back to the Chipolo app and add your Chipolo POP within the Chipolo app as well.
My Chipolo POP disappeared from the Chipolo app!
The system initiated pop-up can sometimes mislead you into thinking that your Chipolo POP should now automatically be added to the Chipolo app as well, especially if it gets triggered right around the time you started playing with your freshly installed Chipolo app.
Don't worry; the Chipolo POP did not disappear in this case. It has only been added to the Find My Device app. You still need to add it to the Chipolo app separately, using the "ADD A NEW CHIPOLO" button.
