This article is related to the Chipolo ONE Spot or CARD Spot and the Apple Find My app.
Compatibility
The Chipolo Spot is a special edition of Chipolo finders that works exclusively with the Apple Find My app. The Chipolo Spot can only be added to the Apple Find My app on an iPhone with iOS 14.3 or later or an iPad with iPadOS 14.3 or later.
How to add a Chipolo Spot
The Chipolo Spot can be added to your Apple Find My app by following these steps. A visual guide is available in How to add the Chipolo ONE Spot or CARD Spot to the Apple Find My app.
- Open the Find My app on your supported iPhone or iPad.
- Choose the ‘Items’ tab’.
- Tap on the + icon.
- Tap on 'Add Other Item'.
- The Find My app will now start searching for nearby compatible devices. Once the app sees your Chipolo ONE Spot or CARD Spot, tap on ‘Connect’.
- After connecting the Chipolo ONE Spot or CARD Spot with your Apple device, you can choose a name and set an emoji for it.
- Set a recognizable name and emoji and tap on ‘Continue’.
- Find My will ask for confirmation to add the Chipolo ONE Spot or CARD Spot with your Apple ID. Tap on ‘Continue’ to confirm.
- On the final overview screen, simply tap ‘Finish’, and you’re all set! The Chipolo ONE Spot or CARD Spot has now been successfully added to your Apple ID.

How to use the Apple Find My app
Chipolo Spot finders have the following features that allow you to easily find your lost item:
- Check your item’s location on a map to quickly see where it was last seen.
- Play a sound on your Chipolo Spot for easy finding when it’s near to you.
- Enable ‘Lost Mode’ when it is lost and you’d like to show a message to the person who may find it.
See your item’s last known location on a map
To see your item’s last known location, simply open the Apple Find My app and navigate to the ‘Items’ tab.
Your Chipolo Spot will display in the list with the name and emoji you set for it, and the map will show the finder's last known location with the emoji symbol.
Play a sound on your Chipolo Spot
A loud melody can be played on your Chipolo Spot to make it easy to find when it is close to you.
To do this, navigate to the ‘Items’ tab in the Apple Find My app on your iPhone or iPad and tap on your Chipolo Spot in the list to see the options.
Enable 'Notify when found'

If you are not sure where your Chipolo Spot is located and it is not within range of your device, you can enable notifications to be sent to your device if it is spotted by another Find My enabled device. This may give you a quick update on your item’s current location.
- In the Find My Items tab, tap on your Chipolo Spot.
- Under 'Notifications', enable 'Notify When Found'.
- You will now receive a notification with an updated location when your Chipolo Spot is seen by a Find My enabled device.

In addition to being notified when your item is spotted by another Find My enabled device, you can also set a message with your email address or phone number for the person who finds your lost item. You do this by enabling ‘Lost mode’.
- In the Find My Items tab, tap on your Chipolo Spot.
- Under 'Lost Mode', tap 'Enable'.
- A screen with a description of Lost Mode will open. Tap 'continue'.
- Enter your phone number or email address and tap 'Next' to continue.
- Use the default message or enter a custom one to share information with the finder of your item. By default, 'Notify when Found' will be enabled as well. You can chose to disable it by tapping the toggle. Finally, tap 'Activate' to enable 'Lost Mode'.
- In addition to seeing 'Lost Mode' activated in the item's details overview, a lock icon on your item will be shown in the Items overview tab.

How to remove the Chipolo Spot
When you no longer want to have your Chipolo Spot added to your Apple ID, it can be removed through the Apple Find My app. After removing it, you will no longer be able to track the Spot and it can now be registered again.
It is advised to have the Chipolo Spot close to your device when removing it from your account. If your device can't connect to the Spot when it is being removed, it has to be factory reset before it can be registered again. See How to factory reset a Chipolo Spot to learn how to do this.

- Open the Find My app on your supported iPhone or iPad.
- Choose the ‘Items’ tab’.
- Tap on your Chipolo Spot in the items list.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap on 'Remove Item'.
- A summary will open, tap 'Remove' to confirm and continue.
- Another dialog will open, tap 'Remove' to re-confirm. Find My will now remove your Spot from your Apple ID.
- If the Spot is not connected to your device during removal, the Find My app will ask for additional confirmation. Tap 'Remove' to continue, or 'Cancel' to stop removing the Spot.
The Chipolo Spot has now been successfully removed from your Apple ID.
