Chipolo’s Out of Range Alerts use the iPhone’s internal Motion & Fitness feature to let you know if you left your items behind.
You can enable and give the Chipolo app permission to use Motion & Fitness in the Chipolo app, but if the Motion & Fitness feature is disabled in your phone’s internal settings, you will need to enable it there first for the feature to work in the Chipolo app.
How to enable Motion & Fitness
Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap on Privacy
Scroll down and tap on Motion & Fitness and on the next screen turn ‘Fitness Tracking’ ON
Enable Motion in the Chipolo app
If you installed the Chipolo app before enabling Motion & Fitness in your phone’s settings, you will also need to enable the Motion permission in the Chipolo app (because the feature was disabled in the phone’s settings the Chipolo wasn’t able to ask for permission to use it).
To enable it, open the Chipolo app and in the top left corner tap Settings cog icon. Next tap on Permissions and on the next screen enable Motion.
